Special e-bulletin: 2015 conference – book now

Jamie Waterall Offical May 2014The NHS Health Check 2015 national conference at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on 26 February is open for bookings. You can find out more about the event and book your place here.

Following last year’s successful conference, we are expecting a high demand for places so I urge you to book early – we have already had a lot of interest in this year’s event.

Called ‘Improvement through collaboration’, the conference will be an opportunity to hear about innovative work across the country to improve the delivery and outcomes of the programme.

It will include question and answer sessions with topic specialists and senior figures, presentations on digital solutions, point-of-care testing, and research and evaluation. A range of workshops are also open for booking, including marketing, the competencies framework, primary care engagement, pharmacy and behavioural insight, and many others.

The conference is for senior officers and elected councillors from local government, public health commissioners, primary care and wider NHS colleagues, voluntary and community organisations, private sector providers and partners, and academics. Please pass on the conference details to people who you think would be interested in attending.

We are also inviting entries to our poster competition, which will be scored by delegates. The winners will receive a prize during the main closing session of the day. Send any conference ideas or poster entries to our dedicated mailbox at nhshealthchecks.mailbox@phe.gov.uk. There will be a limited number of posters so send entries early. The deadline for poster entries is 11 February 2015.

The market place, which was a great success last year, will have over 30 exhibitors. We want a broad range of partners to take part. If you would like to exhibit, you can find further information on the conference website The deadline for expressions of interest is 28 January 2015.

In the meantime, we are holding several webinars over the next few weeks:

  • 29 January -Tackling High Blood pressure action plan and the resources available to support local leadership
  • 3 February - How Devon implemented NHS Health Check for carers
  • 5 February - NHS England talk about its work to support delivery of the NHS Health Check and clinical follow-up
  • 11 February - NHS Health Check Longer Lives data atlas

You can book the webinars here.

I look forward to seeing you all at the conference.
